The Road Not Taken

Well ! , at last, after weeks of thinking, here comes my decision to go for higher studies, the main reason being my disliking to continue as a software engineer, as known to the outside world, any more. It’s worth to reserve a separate post to explain why. I’m going to switch my career towards a research oriented path, which I believe would help the human kind comparatively better than when I remain as a coder throughout my life! I’m talking about joining a PhD which would facilitate this transition and would give me an option for research combined with teaching. Taking some concerns into account, I’ve decided to skip GRE and to appear for GATE 2009. I’m aiming a PhD at IISc From this year onwards, the GATE scores are going to be valid for one year only. It is going to be a tough job for me to refresh my stale mind, when remaining committed to my present work. But a life without small challenges, like this one, is not going to be interesting!

A shockingly sad day !

The day started as usual and I was a happy man until I came to know of that sad and shocking incident which had happened yesterday. Prema Rajeswari, one of my lecturers in college, passed away after having met with an accident ! It is very hard to accept or believe this. She has handled two courses for me, one each, in my 3rd and 7th semesters. As I write this, my mind is remembering things happened at that point in time. She is too young to die. Her two little kids.. how are they going to accept this ? Really sad to think of !  My mind also thinks of my childhood friend, Praveen Kumar, who passed away getting drowned and my college mate of the same name, who passed away few months ago, months after he met with an accident. HE seems to be cruel at times May their souls rest in peace !
