Know Me

Sriram Ponnusamy (aka pointer, my college mates know me better by this name ;) )

Member of  Technical Staff at Veveo, Bangalore, between Jun 2007 and Jan 2009

Senior Software Engineer/Web developer at HeyMath!, Chennai, between Jan 2009 to May 2010

At present, Senior Member of  Technical Staff at Veveo, Bangalore, [again] since May 2010

Volunteered in an NGO called Bhumi until I started hating the attitude of some of its people, shown towards volunteering and co-working.

BE in CSE, CEG, AU, (2003-2007)

I’m an ordinary man who grew up under immense negative motivation that actually transformed me into a  highly self motivated human.  Though I’m yet another software engineer as of now by profession, I don’t want to sit in front of a machine and do programming to create wealth for some unknown capitalist and call it innovation. I don’t either get attracted by that few ‘lakhs’ they throw at you. I want to put to use my talent in computing working on some real world problems impacting the society. I dreamed about working in ISRO in my childhood, but now I don’t see a point in it.

Responsibilities and Opportunities for Technologists

How  Computing can impact society

IT for the common man

Solve this inequality

Persistent Paradoxes

Interests/Goals

  • To attack problems faced by the global society using technology and bring in some positive changes
  • To build some technology that will reach as well as be useful to the common man

In general, I loved computing while studying but unhappy now because I’m not able to do much to the society using  it.  In the next decade, I would like to see myself getting transformed into a social entrepreneur :) Let’s see!
